PTAS BIRDING CLASSES WITH A FOCUS ON NORTH TEXAS BIRDS

With the help of our own expert birders, you can learn to identify local birds by attending our monthly birding class. Classes are from 6:50 to 7:15 PM at the Heard Museum, just prior to our monthly meeting and program. No need to register. Just come! Typically, it is a slide presentation focusing on identifying north Texas birds from a family group. The birds discussed are ones that would be typically seen by active bird watcher in the north Texas area. Audio bird calls are used for help identifying by sounds. Class is informal with group discussions and questions. Informal quizzes are often featured.

Class Schedule: January 23, February 27, March 26, April 23, May 28

Collin County is rich with opportunities to observe birds. The Heard Sanctuary is host to more than 200 species during the year. Some are year-round residents. Some nest during spring and summer. Some winter in our (relatively) warm climate. And others merely stop for a few days during spring and fall migration. Enjoy birds in nature by joining one of our field trips. Organized in 1980, Prairie and Timbers Audubon Society serves Collin County and surrounding counties. We invite you and your family to join us for a wide range of nature-oriented activities. Monthly meetings are scheduled the 4th Tuesday, 6:45 pm, September through November and January through May. They are free and open to the public. Programs are related to wildlife, ecology, conservation and of course, BIRDS!
