Welcome to
Prairie and Timbers Audubon Society
McKinney, TX

PTAS is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and chapter of the National Audubon Society.

Organized in 1980, Prairie and Timbers Audubon Society serves Collin County and surrounding counties. We invite you and your family to join our all volunteer range of nature-oriented activities. Monthly meetings are scheduled the 4th Tuesday, 6:30pm, September through November and January through May. They are free and open to the public. Programs are related to wildlife, ecology, conservation and of course, BIRDS!

Monthly Meeting - 6:30 pm

The PTAS board has decided to have the monthly meetings as a hybrid Zoom/In-person meetings.

Because of the uncertainty of future events regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, the PTAS board will review the situation at each board meeting to determine our actions for meetings and birding trips.

This guidance may change as the situation develops, and we will communicate any actions to you as soon as possible.

Please take the precautions needed to keep you and your families safe by following the U. S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines and any local governmental directives.

Reliant and EarthShare of Texas have launched a program that allows Reliant customers to help reduce their carbon footprints through the purchase of carbon offsets. For each customer-purchased offset, Reliant will make a contribution to EarthShare of Texas and its participating organizations, including Prairie and Timbers Audubon chapter through the Audubon Foundation of Texas!
